Issues

The bank was in the process of turning around its consumer business.

In addition to front-end turnaround work (market sizing and segmentation, branch network optimisation), the credit function needed a careful review.

Projects

As asset products proliferate in a consumer business the need to deploy a centralized credit cycle management process (origination, underwriting, collection, and loss norms) not only is more cost effective but provides for better risk control as well as permits more judicious risk allocation thereby enhancing yields.

Project involved designing and implementing a consumer credit cycle management process around a single asset product and phasing in other asset products to produce a central system based on customer with product sub sets.
